Almost every night now, after bath, teeth brushing, stories, more stories, and good night kisses, Isobel calls us up to her room from downstairs. Sometimes it is to tell us what new word she just sounded out, or (fortunately rarely) to say she can't sleep and wants to come downstairs. But most times she has been lying in her bed 'thinking her thinks' and has come up with a question that can't wait until morning. Some of the best ones:
*how do people learn to speak a language?
*where did the seeds for the first pumpkin come from?
*if I kept counting, would I ever run out of numbers?
This is of course in addition to the constant "why?" all day long. Its wonderful, if exhausting, having such a curious child.
