An Update: Isobel

In 2 weeks Isobel will 'graduate' from her three year program at the Joy of Learning Montessori School.  We are sad that this phase is ending, but looking forward to her starting French Immersion at the local school in the fall.  This past year she has been on several virtual trips around the world, including to Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Quebec, Australia, and currently Cuba.  The things she knows about the world around her is amazing!  Plus, she has been learning arithmetic and cursive writing, and her latest breakthrough has been in reading; she now gets that she can sit down and read a book to herself.

Bella has really calmed down over the last few months, she has become a huge help with her sister (especially now that they can play together) and she has been enjoying doing quiet activities by herself in a way she never did before.  I'm sure this last year has been difficult for her (I still remember the upheaval in my house when Kate was born!) but she is just so glad to have a little sister to play with, and to spend time with her.

And she continues to grow and grow and grow- up if not out!  I think she sprouted up 3 inches this spring alone.  Her physical skills are astounding, she outruns every kid at the playground (and we are there A LOT) and rides her bike up and down the alley behind our house, she is even attempting stunts.  Between the bike, scooter, playground, swimming pool, and bouncing off our furniture, she must burn 3000 calories a day, its no wonder she is a beanpole.
